Regina Ludden McGINNIS, 99, of Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at The Friendly Home in Rochester. 

Born June 16, 1926, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Leo V. and Lillian Trahey Ludden. A proud alumna and valedictorian of Immaculate Conception School, Regina graduated with the Wellsville High School Class of 1943. She went on to build a long and dedicated career as an accountant with the Rochester–Genesee Regional Transportation Authority. 

Regina was a woman of deep faith and an active member of St. Paul’s Church in Webster and Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. Her kindness, sharp mind, and unwavering devotion to her family and community were hallmarks of her long and full life. She was married to Frank J. McGinnis, who predeceased her on February 15, 1973. 

Surviving are: her son, Alfred (Lorraine) McGinnis; her daughter, Tia (Yi-Ping) McGuinness; five grandchildren, Patrick (Sabrina) McGinnis, Jillian (Matthew) Hudson, Laura Thurston, Leo McGuinness, and Ulysses McGuinness; five great-grandchildren, Aislin McGinnis, Grace McGinnis, Maisy McGinnis, Xander Hudson, and Sedona Hudson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, Regina was predeceased by her daughter, Geri Ann Thurston; and five siblings, Donald Ludden, Helen Andrews, Lois (Jerome) Sullivan, Marjorie (Leo) Finn, and Ann “Maude” Margeson. Regina’s family will remember her for her humor, integrity, and the deep love she carried for those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and faith. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 in Immaculate Conception Church, Wellsville. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wellsville.
