Regina Smith

Somersworth – Regina Smith, 67, of Somersworth, NH passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 13, 1956, in Nashville, TN, Regina was the daughter of Henry and Betty (Tate) Noonkester. With Regina's military family she was able to experience the world in her younger years. The family brought them to Dover, NH where they called home and where Regina would meet and marry her best friend, Leland H. Smith, Jr "Junior" They wed in the winter of 1973 and celebrated 50 years of marriage this past December.
Throughout her life, Regina was known for the dedication she had to her job at Riverside Rest Home in Dover. She wore many hats during her 40 plus years, and most recently served as the Assistant to the Administrator. Riverside was truly her life's passion, to care endlessly for the residents there. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Ray Bower and many others at Riverside for their kindness and compassion to Regina over the years.
When away from the nursing home, Regina adored time spent camping with her husband at Mi-Te-Jo Campground. She also had a love for owls, and her beloved pets Taco, Titan, Yeller and Lucky.
She was predeceased by her father, Henry Noonkester, and just recently her loving husband, Leland H. Smith, Jr "Junior".
Regina is survived by her daughters Kerri Foss and husband, Tim, of Somersworth, Shawna Caouette and husband, Bert, of Rochester, and Leanna Smith and her significant other Tim Bayko, of Somersworth; mother, Betty Noonkester; siblings, Henry Noonkester, Jr., Victoria Bogacz and husband, "Bogey", and Gwen Miles; grandchildren Ashley Smith, Katherine Smith and fiancé, Jonathan Hebert, Jadyn Chaisson, Ryan Caouette, 2nd LT Gabrielle Anderson and husband Joe, Sarah Foss, Andrew Foss; and her first great-grandchild whom she loved dearly, Shelby Hebert.
Tasker Funeral Home has been entrusted with Regina's care, and a Celebration of Life will be held at Castaways in Dover, NH on January 20, 2024 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
