Reginald Boggs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cotner Funeral Home on May 13, 2023.
Reginald (Reggie) Lamarr Boggs went home to glory on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 at the young age of 53. He is survived by his loving wife Terynda (Bowers), devoted children Brandon (17), Erin (14) Brian (8), and Megan Jones (33), and loyal dog, Buddy (4).
Reggie was born July 13, 1969 at The Ohio State University and was a lifelong Buckeye fan. He graduated from Whitehall Yearling High School in 1987. He attended both Ohio University and The Ohio State University, studying Communications. Reggie enlisted in the United States Army in 1987 and was an expert rifleman. As a young man, Reggie pursued boxing and was an amateur Golden Gloves Champion. Professionally, he had worked as a law clerk for Agee, Clymer, Mitchell, & Laret, where he met his forever friend and loving mentor, Jim Clymer. Later he worked in commercial and residential paving in central Ohio. He was a lifelong member of the East 18th Avenue Prayer and Bible Band and sang in the Men's Choir.
He was an avid golfer and his infectious smile brought him many new friends on the golf course. On fall Saturdays he never missed watching a Buckeye football game with his family. He supported his kids in all of their many sports and activities, developing their athletic and artistic talents. There was no sideline cheerleader louder than Mr. Boggs! He could often be found at home throwing the football, playing basketball or catching a baseball, or kicking a soccer ball with his sons; hitting a tennis ball with his daughter, or practicing his golf swing in the back yard. He gave his wife confidence and support and always made sure she had new running shoes every season. Everyone in the family had a set of boxing gloves and he often "sparred" with them. Aside from sports, Reggie loved music and taught himself to play piano and guitar. He was also a good artist and encouraged his daughter to pursue her art talent from a very young age. More than anything, Reggie loved his family. He was (and will always be) a strong presence in their lives.
Services will be held at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E Main St., Reynoldsburg, Ohio on Wednesday, May 17th. The family will be receiving friends and loved ones from 12pm - 1pm, with a memorial service beginning at 1pm, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending donations to Cotner Funeral Home to the Boggs Children for their future education, in care of Terynda Boggs.
