We celebrate the vibrant and beautiful life of Reidon Evan Alexander Ford, a beloved son, brother, friend, and beacon in his community who transitioned from this world far too soon, yet leaves behind a legacy that will continue to uplift us all. Though he is no longer with us in the physical sense, Reidon's spirit, laughter, and love will remain with us always.
Born on August 7, 2003, to Reinaldo Ford and Donna Green-Ford, Reidon arrived and instantly lit up the hearts of all who saw him. He embodied a joyful energy and a magnetic personality that made him truly unforgettable. Also known as our Spoiled Son, our Fat Boy Slim, our Chocolate Drop, our Pimping Grandson, our Boy, and our beloved Ray-Reidon will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him most.
No matter how much he grew, Reidon always found comfort in the simple joy of being close to his parents whether it was watching a movie, sharing a laugh, or just enjoying each other's presence. He treasured those moments of togetherness. One of his most heartfelt traditions was wrapping his parents in a big, radiant group hug, a loving gesture he used to say hello, see you later, or simply, "I love you." It was his beautiful way of keeping their bond strong.
To his sister Reionna, he was more than a brother, he was her heart, her partner-in-crime, forever best friend. Just three years apart, the two were soul connected "roots of the same tree," growing together in strength, spirit, and love.
Reidon was deeply compassionate and spiritually grounded, always guided by his trust in God and his desire to make others feel seen, heard, and happy. He lived with an open heart, treating everyone he met with kindness, warmth, and respect. Whether through a shared laugh, thoughtful advice, or a simple smile, Reidon had a remarkable way of making others feel at ease.
A true social butterfly, he was often the spark that lit up the room the one people gravitated toward for his humor, empathy, and calm wisdom. His laugh was infectious, his smile unforgettable, and his presence full of life and light.
Reidon graduated from Bedford High School in 2022 as a proud METCO, Inc. alumnus. Following in his father's footsteps, he enrolled at Salem State University, his father's alma mater. Where he was in his junior year majoring in Business Administration.
Sports were another essential part of who Reidon was. He was an athlete through and through from swimming for the Yawkey Club of Roxbury and Team New England in Woburn, and playing Pop Warner football with the Dorchester Eagles. He competed in varsity football, basketball, and lacrosse at Bedford High, but it was on the basketball court that Reidon found his sanctuary. For him, basketball was more than a game; it was his outlet, his therapy, his peace.
Off the court, Reidon shined just as brightly. He was a youth leader, mentor, and role model who poured his heart into helping others, especially the younger generation. He believed in lifting people up and left a mark on every life he touched through his quiet strength, authenticity, and generosity of spirit.
Despite life's challenges, Reidon moved forward with courage and resilience. He met each day with grace and unwavering hope. His final act of selflessness-becoming an organ donor-was a continuation of the love and compassion that defined his life. Even in passing, he gave the gift of life to others, a powerful reflection of who he was at his core.
Reidon was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles. His beloved grandmothers, Velma and Melviena and his dear Aunt Pam. He leaves behind his devoted parents, Reinaldo and Donna; his cherished sister, Reionna; a wide circle of extended family; countless friends and teammates; and the many young lives he guided and inspired.
Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing that Reidon's light has not dimmed. It lives on in every laugh he sparked, every life he lifted, and every memory we hold dear. His spirit is with us still, walking beside us in love and light, now and always.
