Renda Funderburk

Renda Britt Funderburk, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully in Wilmington, North Carolina, on May 14, 2025. Born in Wilmington on April 20, 1953, she was 72 years old at the time of her passing.
A graduate of Hoggard High School, Class of 1971, Renda dedicated over 40 years of her life as a Professional Paralegal with Murchinson, Taylor & Gibson Attorneys, where she was esteemed for her dedication and expertise. Her professional life was marked by integrity and commitment, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and the legal community in Wilmington.
Renda was a devoted member of Sunset Park Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship brought her immense joy and fulfillment. She was passionate about supporting humanitarian efforts, especially through Samaritan's Purse and the Christmas Shoe Box Project, making a difference in countless lives through her generosity and compassion.
Renda is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Willie Eugene Britt and Lucille Graham Britt, and her grandson, Carter Funderburk.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 48 years, Dale Craig Funderburk, who stood by her side with unwavering love. Her legacy continues through her daughter, Genia Funderburk Montford, and her husband Austin; her son, Craig Funderburk, and his wife Chancey. Renda was a proud and loving grandmother to Tyler, Nicholas, and Calie Montford, and Kinsley Funderburk, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her brother, William (Billy) Britt, who shared in the cherished memories of their childhood.
A service to celebrate Renda's life will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel, led by Rev. David Myers. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for Renda's life and the love she bestowed upon all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be to the Amedisys Hospice Care in Wilmington who cared for Renda in her final days.
Renda Britt Funderburk's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
