Rene C. Fitzgerald

Rene Fitzgerald, 87, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Born on October 16, 1938, he was raised in Lowell, Massachusetts and was the son of the late John W. and Lucy (Gelineau) Fitzgerald. He was the devoted husband of the late Donna R. (Leedberg) Fitzgerald with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Rene was a longtime resident of Dracut, MA and later Pelham, NH. He was an employee of the Town of Dracut for many years and after retiring for only one week, and true to his "keep busy" nature, Rene continued to work at Merrimack Educational Center in Billerica, MA for another decade.
He will be remembered as someone who valued hard work, had a willingness to always lend a helping hand, and the ability to see the good in people. He was a loving father, caring friend, and dedicated Papa to his cherished grandchildren.
Rene is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Joy and Randy Clark of Hollis, NH; beloved grandchildren Emerson and Hayden; sisters Joan Beauregard and Elaine Racicot; brothers Richard Fitzgerald and Leo Fitzgerald and his wife Carmen; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends he considered family. He was predeceased by his brothers Alfred Fitzgerald, Arthur Fitzgerald and Roger Fitzgerald.
Rene's kindness, positive spirit, and love for his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 12pm at St. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, 1340 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be held privately.
