Renee Failing Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pippin Funeral Home - Camden Wyoming on Mar. 31, 2026.
Renee Lynn Failing (nee Cotta) was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on November 16, 1955. The first child of Joseph Cotta and Maryana Cotta (nee Gaylord). Mr. Cotta was a member of the United States Air Force and they were stationed in several different countries and states during his career. Renee was not an only child very long and the next year she was joined by her brother, Joseph, and later by sisters, Sabrina and Bridget.

They finally settled in Delaware and Renee graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1975. She worked in various stores in the area and then worked at Playtex for several years. Renee graduated from Wilmington College with a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources and became an employee at DART in the Human Resources Department. Renee was married and later divorced from that marriage.

In 2017, she met Boyce Failing and they married on October 14, 2017. The couple became inseparable and Renee retired from DART. She and Boyce shared their lives together, whether traveling or just home spending time with their pets.

Renee was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and life changed for them. She battled the cancer for four years and on Thursday, March 19, 2026, Renee left us to be with God.

After marrying Boyce, Renee became a mother that she never had been and an active and supportive member of the family. She was always patient, kind and understanding. She was surrounded by her family when she passed.

Renee is survived by her husband, Boyce Failing and children, Brandon Failing (Wanda), Eric Failing (Sarah) and Victoria Pfeifer (Bill) along with their children, Alex Failing, Emily Pfeifer, Meagan Pfeifer, Ryan Failing and Brody Failing, as well as her mother, Maryana Johnson, brother, Joseph Cotta, sisters Sabrina Cotta and Bridget Wyatt (Tim) and nieces Salina Tatley (Brian) and Carla Dyer, and grandnieces and grandnephews, Carmen Burris, Rayla Burris, Ramon Burris, Khamani Whaley, Cannon Tatley and Sienna Tatley.

Services and burial were private.
