Renita was born to the union of Shirlean Johnson and Clemon Curry on March 18, 1972 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas school district.
Renita loved doing hair and nails, following in her grandmother’s footsteps. She loved fashion, writing poetry, and drawing. She also loved reading her Bible. Renita received Christ at an early age.
Renita had a very caring heart for her family. She would always talk big stuff, but kept the peace.
Renita passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2023. Her husband, Perry Coleman, grandparents, uncles, sister, and granddaughter, Ella Marie Johnson, all preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, sons, Dante Sowell “Tyler”, D’Amontre Johnson (Leslie), and Ja’vier Johnson; daughters, Tiesha Sowell, Dailahjai White, and Daijahnai White; mother, Shirlean Johnson; father, Clemon Curry; brothers, Londell Johnson, and LeAndrew Johnson; sisters, LaCrisia Mozingo (Andre), Darilyn Tillman, Syreeta Humphe ry, and Clemeika Curry, Lorenda Ikerd; Grandkids, Jacob Eddings, Gianna White, Makai Sowell, Malia, Zaymian, Solanna Washington, Sa’mir Washington, Syriah Washington; special friends, Tamekia Cooperwood and Janette Rogers, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 1, 2023, visitation will be held from 9a.m. - 11a.m. with services beginning at 11a.m. at Pleasant Green Baptist Church 340 David L. Gray Drive, Kansas City, Kansas 66101.
