RIDER, Renita Mae - beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, age 71, of Kearsley Daly Villa of Flint, died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Brian's House Hospice. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Pastor Randy Hotchkiss officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Rider was born November 10, 1936 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Harry and Letta (McEwen) Van Pelt. She married William B. Rider and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Rider retired from A.C. Spark Plug in 1998 and was a member of U.A.W. Local # 651 and the Freedom Center. Mrs. Rider loved playing Bingo. Surviving are: daughter, Jan Meredith and husband, Llano of Fenton; six sons, William and wife, Kathy of AK, Robert of Mt. Morris, Terry and wife, Liz, Donald, all of Flint, Tod Koenders of Big Rapids, Dickie of Idaho; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bette Brown, Marlene Spencer and Carol Menke. Her parents also preceded her in death. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
