Retha Margaret Sutherland

Retha M. Sutherland, 75, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2025 surrounded by family. Retha was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Thelma Sutherland and grandsons, AJ and Noah. Survived by daughter, Michelle (Mike) Ebbesen, son, Daniel (Tonya) Griffith, grandchildren: Melissa (Scott), Kristen (Brandon), Matthew, Corey (Shelby) and Anthony (Ella), great grand daughter Mia with Sophira and Liam on the way, 3 "bonus kids" Jean, Johnny and Richard and anyone else who called her mom, as well as many other family members and friends.  

She attended Rock City Church (Whitehall location) and was baptized at that location by Pastor Patrick Elias with assistance by Michelle and Daniel. Her love of all types of crafts was notorious, including knitting, crocheting, word search puzzles, diamond art and jigsaw puzzles. She also loved street racing and had a deep love for muscle cars and hot rods. She loved all types of music, especially Elvis and country music. 

Her visitation and celebration of life will be held on February 1, 2025 by Pastor Patrick Elias. The visitation will begin at 1:00 until 3:00 pm, followed by a roll through then the service immediately following. Family and friends are welcome to attend all. There will be a gathering, information to follow. In lieu of flowers, family is asking for donations toward the service.
