Reuben Albrandt

Reuben “Curley” Albrandt, 78, of Greeley, CO, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at North Colorado Medical Center. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Allnutt Funeral Service – Macy Chapel. Family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., prior to the service. Cremation will be completed. Reuben was born May 7, 1927 in Windsor, CO to Carl and Margaret (Fritzler) Albrandt. He was a sergeant in the U. S. Army 175th MP Detachment Division in World War II stationed in New Foundland. On July 29, 1990, he married Doris Jack. He was fortunate to belong to the families of Wilma (Stoll) Albrandt and Thelma Willis. He and Harvey Maul co-founded A&M Glass in Greeley. A&M Glass became the first business in Greeley to offer low-income housing. His career in the glass and paint business totaled 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge BPOE #809, Moose Lodge #909, VFW Post #212 and a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing cards, trips to Black Hawk, photography and working in his workshop. Surviving Reuben are his wife, Doris Albrandt, of Greeley, CO; daughters, Susan Bundy of Aurora, CO, Denise and husband, Howard Boyer, of Escondido, CA and Patti Albrandt of Greeley, CO; son, Jay R. Albrandt and wife, Piper Denlinger, of San Diego, CA; stepchildren, Colleen and husband, Richard Homes, of Visalia, CA, Chuck Beck, Jr. and wife, Sandy, of Greeley, CO, and Gary Jack and wife, Terri, of Greeley, CO; brother, Rhenny Albrandt of Dublin, CA; sister, Emma Stroman of Windsor, CO; 14 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. His parents, brother, Carl Albrandt, Jr. and sisters, Mary Wollt and Clara Clark preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elks Lodge BPOE #809, Moose Lodge #909 or Parkinson’s Association of the Rockies in care of Allnutt May Chapel, 702 13th Street, Greeley, CO 80631.
