Rev. Rawley “Dink” Lee Haynes, Jr., 74, of Mount Airy passed away on September 26, 2025, at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born in Surry County, NC on January 27, 1951, to the late Rawley Lee Haynes, Sr. and Katherine Dowell. Rev. Haynes accepted the Lord at 28 years old on April 14, 1979. He announced his call to preach on May 3, 1981, at Southside Baptist Church. He later became pastor of True Vine Baptist on February 10, 1991. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Debbie Bowman Haynes; children, David Brian Haynes and his wife Shannon, and Michelle “Micki” Haynes Moser and her husband Ricky; seven grandchildren, Thomas McKinney, Rebekah Browder and Derek, Shawn Leftwich, Cody Moser and Meagan, Hannah Haynes, Kelly Davis and Austin, and Brittany Moser; eight great-grandchildren, Bentley Browder, Rilynn Browder, Lincoln McKinney, Sophie Leftwich, Tucker Leftwich, Maverick Davis, Aria Moser, Maddox Davis; sister, Shirley Raycraft; sister-in-law, Sharon Haynes; and two special children that were like his grandchildren, Levi Nicola and Haleigh Nicola. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, D.J. Haynes; sisters, Martha Haynes, Barbara Morton; brothers, Steve Haynes and Jerry Leftwich. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM at True Vine Baptist Church with Dr. Don Anderson, Rev. Don Fellows, and Rev. Jeff Cassell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Haynes family will receive friends at True Vine Baptist Church on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Services of Mount Airy is serving the Haynes family.
