Reva Workman Schelin died peacefully in her sleep on September 5, 2025. She was 89 years old.
Reva wanted nothing more than to be a mother. She bore three children in close succession and then immersed herself in the community, school, and church organizations that served her children-and the children of others. She taught in the youth organizations of her church, wrote and directed road shows and other plays, volunteered in the PTA, chaired talent shows and pageants, and was the preferred pick among students to chaperone high school dances and activities.
Reva was born in Salt Lake City in 1936. The third of four children-and the only daughter-born to Loa and Jacob Workman, she spent her childhood in Brigham City and
Orem, Utah.
In 1953, Reva married Jack West. Together, they had two daughters while living in Pleasant Grove, Utah. The family moved to Southern California in 1956 and a son was born the following year. In 1968, the family moved to Fredonia, Arizona where Reva was employed by Kaibab Industries.
After a divorce in 1975, Reva returned to Utah where she worked in a variety of administrative, managerial, and supervisory positions for Payson Hospital, Utah Railway, Care West, and RISE Services.
In 1979, Reva married Richard Schelin, an accountant for the Provo School District. Together they served three missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Martin's Cove, Wyoming, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and St. George, Utah.
Reva was predeceased by her parents, husbands, and brothers Bobby and Kenneth. She is survived by her brother Earl, daughters Sherri and Barbara, son Michael, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 15th with a visiting hour for family and friends starting at 10 am. Both visitation and memorial service will be at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North,
Orem, Utah. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Hills, 4800 North 650 East,
