Rex Gordon Bouma

Rex Gordon Bouma passed away in his home in Ferndale, WA on December 26, 2023; he was 72 years old. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will always hold a place in our hearts.
Rex Bouma was a loving and thoughtful soul who enjoyed laughing, being with people, and telling stories. He was a builder/developer most of this life and worked hard to provide for his family. Most of us that knew Rex were able to witness his love for golf. While his talent and passion for the game were evident, the conversations and relationships were the most important part of this activity for him.
Rex loved to travel and explore new places when he had the opportunity. In his 20's, he was able to travel to India and Israel with Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. These trips impacted his faith in Jesus, and he enjoyed sharing many stories from his journeys. Rex's faith in Jesus is what he cherished and what was most important to him in life. He studied his Bible on a daily basis, marking up the pages with shading and study notes. Passing on this faith to his children and sharing it with others were an essential part of his being.
Rex is preceded in death by Nellie May Bouma (mother) and Otto Eugene Bouma (father). He leaves behind three children – Robb Bouma (Marea), Chris Bouma (Jessica), and Melissa Bouma, along with three grandchildren – Alex St. Lawrence, Judah Bouma, and Avery Bouma. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters – Gene Bouma (Marney), Carol Nielsen (Jim), Elaine Durkheimer, Sally Benson (Darryl), and Daniel Bouma.
