A 1969 Miller High School graduate, Rex retired as a soil technician for the Lawrence County Soil & Water District.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Mark Burton and his sister, Helen Hurst.
Rex is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lisa; daughter, Tonya Choate-McCall; sons, Mitchell (Lauren) Choate and Levi (Veronica) Smith; siblings, Patsy (Thurman) Lee, Martha (Mike) Rader, Dan (Debbie) Choate, and Jack (Anna) Choate and grandchildren, Molly and Mason McCall, Cole, Anson, and Raylin Choate, Ethan, Levi Jr., and Eli Smith.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, c/o the funeral home.
Online condolences may be shared at this website.
