In Loving Memory of Reynaldo A. Quecan

02/27/1931 – 10/07/2025

It is with deep love and gratitude that we remember the life of Reynaldo A. Quecan, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who passed away peacefully on the seventh of October, 2025, at the age of 94.

Born in Chia, Colombia, Reynaldo immigrated to the United States on two occasions with hopes in his heart and dreams for a better life. With courage, determination, and an unwavering work ethic, he built a meaningful life for himself and his family, becoming a proud example of the American dream.

Reynaldo was a lifelong educator, touching the lives of many as a dedicated teacher who believed in the power of knowledge to transform lives. His passion for learning extended beyond the classroom. He retired early to build and manage properties in Chia, and to become an avid gardener.

Reynaldo's gardens in Chia and Oakley where he resided last were more than just a collection of plants. They were sanctuaries. He found joy in nurturing life from the soil, and his flowers, fruits, and vegetables were a source of pride, peace, and pleasure for all who visited. He is survived by his wife, five children, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren (another little one on the way), who will remember him for his wisdom, warmth, and quiet strength. He taught by example, showing us how to work hard, care deeply, and find beauty in the everyday.

A funeral mass will be held on October 29, 2025 at the Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel, 11 AM, in Antioch, California.

His was a life well-lived and well-loved. He leaves behind roots that will continue to grow in all of us.
