PERRY –
Rhoda Phoebe Anne Griffen Meazell, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2022, after an extended illness. A private service will be held at a later date for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to FOPAS, Friends of Perry Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 1001, Perry, GA 31069.
Rhoda was born in New York, New York, to the late Robert and Dorothy Griffen. She was a homemaker and continuously worked to create an inviting and loving environment for her family. Rhoda was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Perry. She enjoyed spending time outdoors; nurturing her beautiful roses, other flowers and plants; and feeding and watching the birds. Rhoda had a special love for animals, especially her cats.
Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Florence Sutera.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Rhoda are her loving and devoted husband of forty-two years, Jack Meazell of Perry; her children, Ronald Henderson, Jr. of Phillippines, Rhonda Hobgood of Smithfield, NC, Denise Newbauer (Bill) of Brunswick, GA, and Janine Voss of Havelock, NC; three grandchildren, Dustin Henderson, Leigh Anne Voss, and Kristina Voss; a great-granddaughter; her brother, Kim Griffen; and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
