Rhoda Toles

Rhoda Toles was a beacon of compassion and dedication, whose empathy and loyalty touched the hearts of everyone she met. Born in Minneapolis, MN on September 22, 1932, as Rhoda Finkelstein, she spent her life enriching the lives of others. Rhoda was a woman of grace and strength. She was an accomplished Executive Vice President in the Association Management sector, specifically in the Life Insurance Industry, where she was dedicated to her professional life and retired from the Minnesota Association of Life Underwriters. She loved her job and was highly respected by her peers and her members. She was the recipient of several prestigious awards related to her career. Rhoda's sense of humor was delightful, and her ability to listen made her a natural counselor to those around her.
Rhoda was a devoted matriarch who found her greatest joy in her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Merrill "Babe" Toles, and their love story spanned an impressive 57 years. She is survived by her loving children, Risa "Cookie" Toles, Susan (Michael) Garner, and Gary Toles. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren – Michael (Amy) Newberger, Daniel Newberger (Chandra Olsen), Aaron (Stacy) Garner, Elena Levitt, Jacob, Samantha, Micah, Lucy Newberger, Tovah, and Hannah Levitt. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Ted and Sandee Stone and Howard and Gloria Toles, along with cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Mary Finkelstein; her sister, Barbara Kaplan; and her devoted husband, Babe Toles, the love of her life.
A celebration of Rhoda's life will be held on THURSDAY, 01 May 2025 at 1:30 pm, at the MINNEAPOLIS JEWISH CEMETERY CHAPEL, 7032 Penn Avenue S., Richfield, Minnesota, 55423. The service will be followed by SHIVA at 6:30 pm at RidgePointe Apartments, 12800 Marion Ln W, Minnetonka, MN 55305. Donations in Rhoda's honor can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Sholom Home West, or your favorite charity.
