It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rhonda King Appleton, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who departed this world on October 11, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 28, 1948, in Alabama, Rhonda brought joy and warmth to the lives of those who knew her.
Rhonda was the beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. WP Jr. and Alma King, who preceded her in death, along with her beloved granddaughter, Heather Lands, and her dear sister, Martha Jo King. Rhonda's legacy continues through her two devoted daughters, Kimberly Lamb (Patrick) and Martha Rogers (Weylin), who carry forward the love and values she instilled in them. She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren, Patrick Lands, Tobias Rogers, and Sean Rogers, along with her great-grandson, Camden Murdoch Lands, all of whom were the light of her life.
Rhonda's passions were as vivid and diverse as her personality. She found great joy in birdwatching, where the beauty of nature inspired her. An avid photographer, she captured moments that reflected the love and laughter of her family. Her culinary skills were renowned; cooking for her family and baking for her church community were two of her greatest joys, as she believed that sharing food was a way to share love.
In addition to her culinary and artistic talents, Rhonda had a deep appreciation for flying. Most importantly, her heart overflowed with love for her daughters and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Rhonda King Appleton will be deeply missed by all whose lives she enriched. Her legacy of love, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind.
