Rhonda Thompson Redden

Rhonda Thompson Redden, 63, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2025, in the comfort of her own home.

Rhonda was a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She is survived by her daughter, Alexandria Smith, and her husband, Matthew Smith; her son, Aaron Redden, and his wife, Candace Redden; and her beloved grandson, Sawyer Smith, who brought immense joy to her life. Her sister, Michelle Whiteside, and her family, as well as her brother, Ernie Gosnel, and his family. Additionally, she is surrounded by a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Folger Redden, and her parents, Bertha and Jimmy Thompson.

Rhonda had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. She never met a stranger and her laughter, compassion, and love for others will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was an animal lover, particularly fond of horses and dogs. She loved cooking for her family and crafts such as crochet. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched.

Although her family and friends will deeply miss her, they find solace in knowing that heaven has welcomed another angel. Rhonda's spirit will continue to guide, inspire, and watch over those she loved so dearly.

To honor Rhonda's life, services will be held at Forest Lawn in Hendersonville on November 15, 2025. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by the service. The family will then travel to Silver Creek Baptist Church in Mill Spring, North Carolina, for a private graveside burial.
