Ricardo Manzano Obituary
Rick worked for 15 years at Carrier Corporation before finding his true calling at the Solvay Geddes Community Youth Center, where he dedicated 16 years of his life. For Rick, the Youth Center wasn't just a workplace - it was his second home and a place where he made a lasting impact on the lives of countless young people in the community.
Rick was also a proud member of the Solvay Tigers AC, where he made lasting friendships and enjoyed being part of the local tradition.
Rick will be remembered for his kind heart, loving nature, quick wit, and truly unmatched sense of humor. He had a quiet humility that endeared him to everyone who knew him. He was the keeper of his family's history, lovingly organizing photos and memories to preserve their legacy. Above all, he cherished his home and took great pride in creating a warm, welcoming space for those he loved.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, Joseph C. and Clara M. Manzano; his sister, Linda Johnson; and his brother, Joseph Manzano.
He is survived by his sisters, Phyllis Anthony, of Delray Beach, FL and Claire (Martin) Curry, of Dewitt, NY; his brother, David J. (Elizabeth) Manzano of Camillus, NY; 9 nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Rick's warmth, humor, and devotion to family and community will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday August 8, 2025 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave, Solvay and 9:30 AM Saturday August 9, 2025 at St. Marianne Cope Parish-Our Lady of Peace Church, 203 Halcomb St, Lakeland, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Rick will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick's memory to the Solvay-Geddes Community Youth Center, 1010 Woods Rd, Solvay, NY 13209.
