Richard M. Barabas, 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at Aberdeen Crossing Assisted Living in Highland Heights.

Born on June 7, 1949, in Cleveland, Richard made his home in Novelty for the past 15 years. A lifelong railroader, he was a dedicated and hardworking employee who took great pride in his career. Outside of work, Richard was an avid hunter and found joy in the companionship of his four beloved cats-Stella, Dora, Hank, and Buddy.

Richard was the devoted father of Sherry (Matthew) Quinn and Teresa Biondolillo; cherished grandfather of Matthew (Marissa) Quinn, Nicholas Biondolillo, and Gianna Biondolillo; and proud great-grandfather of Ellanor and Fiona Quinn. He was the loving brother of Valerie Barabas and dear uncle of Amanda Barabas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen (née Sabarich) Barabas, and his brother, George Barabas.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at The Abbey of Willoughby (on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), followed by a Funeral Service at 7 p.m.
