Obituary published on Legacy.com by Muzyka & Son Funeral Home - Chicago on Oct. 3, 2025.
Richard "Rich" Baranski, age 68, lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 with his family at his side. Born December 6, 1956 to the late Richard and the late Geraldine, he was the beloved husband of Barbara for 43 years; loving father of the late Timothy and Matt; dear brother of Susan (Richard) Kehoe, Stacie (Mark) Rachelski, and Sandra (Paul) Janis; fond uncle of Jonathan, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Emily, and Nicholas and cousin of many. Richard was a parishioner at St. Constance Parish and was a member of the church choir. He was also a past President of the St. Constance Sports Board, and served as a basketball coach. An avid sportsman, Richard also played hockey, golf, and was a #1 Chicago Sports fan. He will be remembered for his great love of life and nature, and his early morning drives with a hot cup of coffee to marvel at the sunrise and to photograph the deer and wildlife that he would encounter. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Visitation Friday, January 24, 2025 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago.
