Edna Moree Baranski was born on December 25, 1933, to William D and Edna Owens Wilkinson. Moree passed away on May 29, a few days after her 68th wedding anniversary. She grew up in Wilmar, AR and attended Wilmar school's enjoying and playing many sports. After graduating, she decided to become a registered nurse. She traveled from Wilmar to Memphis to attend Baptist Memorial Hospital's nursing program. On the trip, Moree met another student, Esther Kreimeyer, who was also going to attend BMH and they became lifelong friends.
In 1957, Moree met and married her beloved husband, Thomas Baranski. After living in several cities, they returned to Memphis. Upon their return, she met her neighbor Genie Ashworth who became more like a sister and supported the family through Moree's health issues.
She retired from American Standard as a personnel supervisor. During her working career, she attended the University of Memphis earning her bachelor's degree at night. Moree had a strong passion for tracing family history and helping others finding their family history while working at the Germantown Genealogical Library. She belonged to many other organizations (DAR, PEO, Kirby Woods Garden Club, Quilting Club and others) holding leadership roles and helping build their local membership. Those that knew her loved her big smile and friendliness to everyone. Sadly, she will be missed by all who knew her.
Moree is survived by her husband Tom; sons, Jeff Baranski (Rosemary) and Eric Baranski (Mike); grandchildren Justin Baranski (Megan) and Will Baranski (Alysia) and great grandchildren Lenzi and John Hall Baranski.
In a private ceremony, the burial will take place at West Tennessee State Veterans Memorial Cemetery on June 10, 2025. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Church of the Holy Spirit on June 10, 2025, at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to Holy Rosary School Building Fund.
