Richard Barranger, 74, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
Richard worked at the VA hospital, where he was passionate in caring for veterans that suffered with PTSD and other mental disorders resulting from serving. His work inspired him to also serve in the United States Army, where he served and loved his country.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Barranger; his loyal beagle, Maggie; his five children, Richard Barranger (Michele), Rhosalee Parkin (Blair), Rebekah Beltran (Gabriel), Randal Barranger (Danielle) and Robin James Barranger; his 11 grandchildren, Nicolette, Gabrielle, Richard, Donald (Morgan), Rosina, Jacob, Karley, Vera, Christian, Paul and Marissa; his great-grandchildren, Thomas and soon to be born great-grandson and a sister, Renie Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Norenne Barranger, and a brother, Mark Barranger.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 2 PM, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003
In lieu of gifts, donations will be appreciated in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project, 600 River Ave., Suite 400, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, or a Beagle rescue.
