Richard Beckstrom

Richard A. Beckstrom, age 96 of Bay Village, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. He was born on June 6, 1929 to parents Arther and Gladys (nee Davis) Beckstrom.

Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Navy in service of his country. He enlisted during the Korean war and spent 4 years flying naval reconnaissance and anti-submarine patrols in the P2V Neptune off the coasts of Kodiak and the Aleutian islands.

Upon returning home, he attended college and after graduation began what became a career as an oil broker/sales. Soon thereafter, he would marry the love of his life, Joan Victoria. They spent a wonderful 61 years together, raising three sons and enjoying family life.

Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his personal lord and savior. He was a member of Bethesda on the Bay Church since moving to Bay Village from the Chicago area in 1983, and served as an usher for many years. Richard was a family man through and through. He loved spending time with his sons, with a wide variety of interests from playing hockey (into his 40's), Amateur Radio, photography, enjoying the great outdoors hunting & fishing, and had a real love for the game of Golf.

Richard is survived by his loving sons, Bob, Tom, and Jim. He was preceded in death by his dear wife of 61 years, Joan Beckstrom (nee Victoria); and parents Arthur and Gladys Beckstrom.
