Elton-Memorial services honoring Richard "Ricky" Bolt, 66, will be held at 3 o'clock p.m. on Friday afternoon, June 27, 2025, at Ardoin Funeral Home in Elton.
Ricky's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home in Elton on Friday evening, June 27, 2025, from 3-7 o'clock p.m. All of Ricky's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin Funeral Home in Elton.
Ricky was a lifelong resident of Elton, graduating in 1978. He played football and participated in track where he held a proud pole-vaulting record that stood for 30 years. He worked in the oil field for over 40 years, obtaining rig manager position. Ricky was a rough neck and proud of it. There wasn't much he could not fix mechanically or build. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, spending many happy days at his camp on Barnes Creek. He loved LSU and had a love/hate relationship with the Saints. He loved his family, children, and grandchildren. A favorite pass time of his was picking on them along with his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish Ricky's memory include his wife of 37 years, Carolyn LeJeune Bolt; one daughter, Jessica (David) Gomez of Bridge City, Texas; one step-daughter, Jessica Estillette of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren, Sierra, Caysen, Cayden, Layla, Ezekiel, Eli, and Trinity; one honorary grandchild, Curtis; one sister, Juanita Bolt Long of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; one brother, Bert (Sonya) Bolt Jr. of Cut off, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Ricky is preceded in death by his son, Samuel Royce Bolt; parents, Verian Shuff Ortego and Bert Bolt Sr.; and beloved maternal grandparents, Amy and Percy Shuff.
Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Ricky's family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
