Douglas Dangerfield Obituary

Douglas Joseph Dangerfield, Jr. was born December 18th, 1980, and passed away August 19, 2025, at the age of 44.
Douglas was a man who lived life with purpose, laughter, and faith. A devoted follower of Christ, he lived each day with a deep love for God and a strong belief in the power of faith. His life was a testament to what it meant to walk humbly, serve others, and trust in the Lord.
A proud outdoorsman, Douglas found joy in the quiet peace of a fishing trip at sunrise and the thrill of a good hunt. The woods and waters were his sanctuary-places where he felt closest to God and nature. He never came home without a story, usually shared with a big grin and a punchline that left everyone laughing.
Known for his sharp wit and endless sense of humor, Douglas was the kind of man who could light up any room with a joke or a clever one-liner. He believed laughter was one of God's greatest gifts, and he shared that joy with everyone he met.
A loyal and passionate fan of the New England Patriots, Sundays were sacred not only for worship but also for football. Whether it was celebrating a big win or good-naturedly arguing a bad call, he bled Patriots red, white, and blue.
But above all else, Douglas was a man of unwavering faith. He loved deeply, prayed often, and never hesitated to lend a hand or a word of encouragement. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life lived in service to God and others.
He will be dearly missed, but his spirit lives on in the stories we share, the faith we carry forward, and the love he gave so freely.
He is survived by his daughter, Khamyra Gobert; sisters, Yolonda Jones and husband, Mitchell, Latonya Horne and husband, Columbus; godparents, Daniel Pickens and Velma Guillory; godson, Jacobre May, Jr.; and 1 grandchild on the way.
He is preceded by his parents, Douglas J. Dangerfield, Sr. and Thelma May Dangerfield, and sibling, Robert Dangerfield.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m., in the Reed Chapel at Riley & Sons, 315 North 14th Street, Kinder, Louisiana. Reverend Andrew Hayes will be officiating. A Repast will be held in the Smith Hall at Riley Smith and Sons from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
