Richard Mark Bowman (6/23/1963 - 12/1/2024) passed away quietly at his home in Houston, Texas on December 1, 2024. Richard was born in Corpus Christi to Frederick and Jeanne Bowman. He graduated from Baylor University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
Richards father was a wildcatter and taught him the oil and gas business from the ground up, traveling many backroads to gauge wells with his Dad.
Richard owned and operated several oil and gas companies for many years, including his family oil business, the Bowman Oil Companies. He loved the outdoors, traveling the world and racing fast cars. He will always be remembered for his wonderful stories, incredible energy and sharp wit.
While Richard was a loving and faithful friend to so many, his greatest joy in life was being a father to two exceptional sons, Josh Edwin and Trevor Daniel Bowman.
Those left behind to treasure his memory include Joshua and Trevor, their mother Mary Hope of Houston, his brother Frederick William Bowman and wife Deborah, of Dallas, and sisters Mary Bowman Campbell of Dallas and Dr. Nancy Bowman Upton of Tampa, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Jeanne Bowman, and his brothers John and Robert Bowman.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 2:00 PM- 5:00 PM at Bradshaw-Carter, 1734 W. Alabama Street, Houston, Texas.
