Stephen Anthony Green, 56, beloved husband, father, cherished son, protective brother, and loyal friend met his Lord and Savior Jesus face to face on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Portland, Oregon.

Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 8, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Pampa with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Stephen is the beloved son of Wesley and Kathryn Green of Pampa, Texas. He was born in Houston on June 10, 1969. At the young age of 10, Stephen attended Kanakuk Kamp, a Christian athletic camp, in Branson, Missouri attending until his senior year and ultimately becoming a counselor for the camp. He was hesitant to go that first year by himself but bravely endured the long camp bus ride to Branson, Missouri. That next year his best buddy, Michael Vidal, went along with him to Kanakuk. The camp’s motto is “Christ first, other’s second and I’m third”, transforming the boys who embraced Christ as their Savior. They flourished in this environment. His formal education was at Rehoboth Christian School in Gallup, N.M. The school’s conservative Christian values of no dancing on campus were tested when Stephen formed a band to play at the Junior-Senior Banquet. Laying down his guitar, he asked his date to dance to the chagrin of the sponsors.

After graduation from Rehoboth, he attended Baylor University at Waco, Texas. Stephen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992, making life-long friendships.

Stephen’s next adventure was moving to Portland, Oregon, where he met the love of his life, Kellee. While there he had the opportunity to travel with the Major Ian Thomas of Torchbearer’s Ministry as his “mule” for a three-month tour to New Zealand, London, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, Austria, Germany, Italy and Africa. This experience was life-changing for him, giving direction for his life.

Major Ian Thomas married Stephen and Kellee on July 19, 1997. Together they have three children, Katie, Summer, and Tanner. At this point he attended Portland State University and was accepted and attended George Fox University for a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree. Stephen’s compassion for others, kindness, devotion to his family, fun-loving spirit, and enduring strength will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
