Obituary of Richard Glenn Boyette

Richard Glenn Boyette, 76, of Whiting passed away at home on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Duke was born in Montclair, was raised in the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township and lived in Neptune City, Freehold, and Toms River before moving to Whiting. He retired from the Monmouth County Department of Corrections as a Sargent in 2000. Duke worked at the jail in Freehold for over seventeen years and previously at Rahway State Prison. He had a black belt in Karate in the Shotokan discipline and had a passion for music especially "oldies" and was a guitarist. Yet the love Duke had for Triumph Motorcycles knew no bounds. This led him to be one of the founders of Chapter XV, of the Blue Knights. Duke was also a proud member of the F.O.P. and the P.B.A.

Richard was predeceased by his first wife, Linda and a granddaughter, Mary. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Boyette; two sons, Michael Boyette and his wife, Dorothy of Lumberton, NC and Kevin Boyette and his wife, Patrice of Kingman, AZ; grandchildren, Michelle and Christina; step grandson, Parker; and his brother, Robert Boyette.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon with his funeral service to follow at 12:00 Noon.
