Richard J. Breiling

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home.
Richard Joseph Breiling, a current resident of Clinton Township, Michigan, passed away on December 1, 2021. He was 89 years old, born on March 11, 1932 in Mt. Clemens, MI to the late John and Amalia (Herzenstiel) Breiling. On October 24, 1987 in Clinton Twp, he was married to the former Arlene Lieb. Together they have spent over 34 years of marriage.
Upon his honorable discharge from the United States Navy, Richard worked for Michigan Bell, now known as AT&T, for over 32 years, beginning in switching systems, and eventually moving up to management and teaching. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and singing in local choir. He often could be found in the comfort of his home, relaxing with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Arlene, children Kurt Breiling and Heidi Batley, grandchildren Kai and Kyra Batley of Wisconsin and Kristof Anetta of Slovakia. Additionally, his sister Ruth Gallagher and brother Helmut Breiling also survive. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and his son Christopher.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mt. Clemens.
