Richard "Rick" Michael Brian, 81, was born January 21, 1943 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 13, 2024.
Rick attended Trinity High School, Class of 1961. He went on to have one son, Shane P. Brian. Rick enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1962, qualifying as an Expert Marksman, and achieving the rank of Corporal. He was employed with the Jefferson County Police Department, working as a SWAT Team Sniper, a Detective with JCPD and Metro Narcotics, and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office with the DEA Joint Task Force. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and caring for his bonsai. Richard was Catholic and previously attended Our Lady of Lourdes, Saint Martha, and Saint Martin of Tours.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, James Vincent Brian & Ruth Ann Brian (Score), and brother Dave Brian. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Shane Brian; siblings Tim (Lynn) Brian, Tom (Barbara) Brian, Judy Roy; nieces and nephews Jeff Brian, Mike (Erin) Brian, Melody (Jeremy) Smith, Andy (Lindsay) Brian, John (Aaron) Brian, Eric (Audra) Brian, Brian Roy & Ariane Roy, and many great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm - 8:00pm, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Ratterman Brothers, East Louisville (12900 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40243) with a memorial service at 2:00pm, Sunday, May 19, 2024.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans (321 West Main Street, Rm 322, Louisville, KY 40202-6200), the LMPD Officer in Distress Fund (982 Eastern Parkway, Louisville, KY 40217), or the ASPCA (P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929).
