Richard (Dick) Alan Brigger

Passed away on December 19, 2025. Dick was born on March 7, 1935, in Ridgway PA, a son of the late Leonard & Mabel Ecklund Brigger. He was married to the love of his life Rae Ann Brigger for 61 years until her death in 2023. Surviving are his children, Scott (Angela) Brigger of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Todd Brigger of Horseheads, NY and Brenda (Bill) Thorpe of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Erica Brigger and Connor and Owen Thorpe. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Rae Ann Brigger, his brother, Leonard Brigger and his sister, Lucille Rizzo.

He graduated from Otto Township High School in 1953 and received his BS Degree in Business Administration from Grove City College in 1957. After college, he served 2 years in the US Army and then went to work at Corning Glass Works (Corning, Inc) for 33 years. He was a Credit Manager for many years and in 1979 was selected for Corning's Distinguished Associates Program which recognizes employees for continuous and outstanding contributions to the company's success. Dick served on the Board of Directors for the Corning Credit Union. He was very active in the Southern Tier Retired Lions Club and the Horseheads First United Methodist Church.

Dick enjoyed fishing, especially at Black Lake, bowling, softball, walking at the mall and lawn work. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Dick loved watching his grandchildren in school functions and playing sports. He and Rae Ann have wonderful memories of all the trips they went on especially with their good friends.

Family and friends are invited to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. Horseheads on Tuesday, December 23 from 12PM -1PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 1PM. Graveside Services will take place immediately after at Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Horseheads First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
