Richard Michael Brown Sr.

Richard M. Brown Sr. passed away on September 23, 2025, in Granger, Indiana, at the age of 82. Richard was born on July 27 1943, in Gary, Indiana, to Richard and Brownie (Prather) Brown.

Richard attended Tolleston High School in Gary, Indiana where he met his high school sweetheart, Joan. They married July 29, 1967. Richard was a devoted member of St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mishawaka, Indiana. Professionally, he worked as an office manager for Terminix.

In his free time, Richard enjoyed genealogy research, watching Notre Dame football, and bird watching. He also enjoyed going to the senior center and was very fond of his dogs.

Richard is survived by his daughter; Susie Dhoore, son-in-law; Rob Dhoore; granddaughters, Abigail Dhoore, Kathleen Brown, and Riley Brown; great grandchildren, Alex and Aurora; siblings, Cynthia Bokash (Jack), Sarah "Sally" Heath, and John Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Brownie (Prather)Brown; his beloved wife, Joan; son, Richard Michael Brown Jr., and grandson, Matthew Dhoore.

Visitation will be held 5pm-7pm Monday, September 29, 2025 with a prayer service from 7pm-7:30pm at Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Funeral services will be held at 9am Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Polish Roman Catholic Cemetery, South Bend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made offered to St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church.
