Richard Lewis Brown
July 14, 1939 – July 20, 2025
Richard Lewis Brown, age 86, of Palmer, Alaska, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at Magnolia Manor Assisted Living. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on July 14, 1939, Richard lived a life marked by devotion-to his faith, his family, and his country.
Richard honorably served over 22 years in the United States Armed Forces. Split between the Navy and Air Force, Richard began his military career in 1957 and obtained the rank of Chief Petty Officer in the Navy and then continued his distinguished military career in the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1979, at the rank of First Sergeant. Richard was a talented Aircraft Mechanic and dedicated himself to service with integrity and excellence.
One of his greater and proud military accomplishments is he served on both the Navy and Air Force Pistol and Rifle teams. Richard was a finalist for the All-Navy Championship and was the Pacific Fleet Rifle Champion. His passion for shooting was evidenced by his Lifetime Membership with the National Rifle Association.

A devout Christian, Richard was known for his unwavering values and compassionate spirit. Richard proudly celebrated 47 years of sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous-an achievement he cherished deeply. Richard was a lifelong proud supporter of the Republican National Committee and was recognized by President George Bush Jr. for his steadfast commitment and enduring dedication to the Republican Party as a member of the Presidential Victory Team.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Brown; daughter, Catherine Ann Frye ("Cathy"); brother, John Brown and sister, Mary; daughter-in-law, Mary-Kay Brown, grandchildren: Ariel Brown, Cody Brown, Casey Brown, Cory Brown, Heather Alfaro, Michael Alfaro, Mary Alfaro, Mitchell Alfaro, Myleen Alfaro, Jasmine Guajardo and Isaac Guajardo. He was a proud great-grandfather to Myron, Victoria, Matthew, Milo, Amaya, and Rowan.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Brown, and his parents, Lewis and Grace Brown; sisters: Miriam and Pam.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Richard and Irene's residence, surrounded by close family and friends to celebrate his life. Richard will be laid to rest with full military honors at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.
Richard will be remembered for his strength, humility, and steadfast love for his family. His legacy of service, faith, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
