Richard Lee "Gumby" Carr Jr., 67, of Burket, Indiana, died at 5:19 pm, Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital in Warsaw. He was born on August 14, 1958, in Hicksville, Ohio, to Richard Lee Sr. and Virginia (Cusack) Carr.
Gumby was a US Navy veteran. He married Donna Clemons in Akron, Indiana on December 24, 1977. He was a Pilot Car Driver for 32 years, and was a true outdoorsman. Gumby enjoyed music, model cars, traveling, writing, and reading especially Stephen King novels. During the warmer months he was always outside, where he loved swimming, and spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Carr of Burket, four children, Amie (Bill) Cloud of Wabash, Indiana, Alana Carr of Bucyrus, Ohio, Richard "Ricky" Carr, III of Burket, and Amanda (Alfonso) Briano of Goshen, Indiana, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings; Lynn Carr, Denise Carr, Beverly Carr, Charlotte Neel, and Judy Parrott, and half-siblings; Shelly Carr Sawyer, Ryan Carr, Kelly Carr, and Shannyn Jewell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
