Richard Nelson Cavin, II, MCPO/AKCM Ret. "Rick", 61, passed away May 19, 2023, in Southaven, MS. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Road East, Southaven, MS, 38672). A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements.
Rick was born April 2, 1962, in Lebanon, IN. A retired U.S. Navy Master Chief, Rick was proud of his military service to his country. He was an imposing figure to some, but a gentle giant to those who knew him best. He loved history, especially military history, documentaries, genealogy, and all genres of music. Weekends would find Rick making a hearty breakfast with his beloved wife, Cindy, working out at the gym, or riding motorcycles and spending time with his Brothers in the US Military Vets MC. Nothing made him smile more than visiting with his grandsons – Atlas Grey and soon to be Ares Blake. A masterful storyteller, a trait he inherited from his grandfather, he entertained his family and friends with his many witty tales, which he often posted on Facebook. But most of all, he loved relaxing at home, watching movies and just hanging out with his wife.
Richard Cavin, II, is survived by his wife, Cindy Cavin of Southaven, MS; his mother Linda (Ron) Beamon of Lebanon, IN; his two daughters, Nicole Cavin of Murrieta, CA, and Shelby (Dakota) Anders of Madison, AL; his son, Rikk (Wendy) Cavin of Anaheim, CA; his two grandsons, Atlas Grey Anders and Ares Blake Anders both of Madison, AL; his two sisters, Kelly (Ronnie) Taylor of Brodhead, KY, and Julie Childress of Crawfordville, IN; seven nieces and nephews, and his extended family.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard N. Cavin.
Contributions and donations in honor of Richard Cavin II may be made to your local or favorite military organization. Online condolences may be made on his Tribute Wall at www.colemanfuneralhome.com.

RIP Brother in Arms. You provided me with military sanity as we dealt with civilian insanity together as FedEx Express managers. I still remember sharing our Army and Navy stories, military history trivia and difficult employee discussions before our shift change over at Mem Base.

Cindy, I missed him when I retired because he was a great guy and friend. You and your family are in our prayers.

@@---))---- RIP, Rick (Cavin). To Rick Cavin's family and friends, my sincere condolences in this time of sorrow.
I'd known Rick to be a great MGR at FedEx Express SCL organization ; his expertise in ATS was impeccable.
He will be immensely missed by his peers at MEM Base and throughout FedEx Corp.
