Richard J. Coletta, 79, passed Sept 30th, 2025 after complications from a recent surgery. He was born November 24, 1945 in Akron Ohio. Rick was a lifelong resident of Akron and a 1964 graduate of Kenmore High School.

Rick worked for the Akron Fire Department for almost thirty years, retiring in 1999. In retirement Rick enjoyed working part time at D-A Specialty Co. in Akron and continued to work until he entered the hospital. Rick’s other interests included watching the Nascar races on Sunday and following the Cleveland Indians and reluctantly the Cleveland Browns. In recent years Rick and a group of long-time friends had regular outings to catch up and shoot the breeze. One of Rick’s favorite things to do was head to Wheeling Downs to the racetrack with his sons or a group of friends and occasionally even win some money. One of Rick's fondest memories was hanging with his only grandson, Gabriel and watching SpongeBob.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Helen Coletta, his brother, Bruce Coletta and his wife of fifty two years, Linda. Rick is survived by sons, Matthew (Mary Ellen) and Marc (Marianne); grandson, Gabriel; sister, Michelle Powell; brother, Robert (Margaret) Coletta and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5-8 Friday October 3, 2025 at the Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday October 4, 2025 at the Funeral Home with Fr. Sam Ciccolini officiating. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
