Richard N. Collins Jr.

Richard N. Collins Jr., 55, of Wethersfield, was called back to God on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, after a brief illness. Richard was born in Bristol on February 16, 1970, and was the son of the late Richard N. Collins Sr. and Lucina Gorneault. He graduated from Bristol Central High School in 1989 and soon began a career as a truck driver. Driving a truck is where Richard was completely at home. He loved to travel the open roads no matter what he was delivering or where he was going. He also loved to work with wood, creating interesting pieces for his family and friends. Although Richard was a quiet and simple man, he loved to help people. He would give of himself freely to make sure others would be ok. He loved animals especially dogs. He also loved to travel out of state on occasion to see his nephew finish his dream home. Although not in the physical sense, Richard's spirit will be there. Richard loved to spend time with his brother Allen. The had a strong brotherly bond. He was also close to his sister-in-law Karleen whom he has known since high school. Richard is survived by his three brothers, Allen "Brian" Collins and his wife Karleen of Bristol, Garry Collins also of Bristol and Larry Collins of Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Mark Collins. Richard would have wanted a quiet service with just his family so all services and burial will be held privately. There will be no calling hours.
