Richard John Connor, Jr., AKA "The Phoenix" 62, a lifelong resident of Dutchess County, died on November 20, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in New Rochelle on March 31,1962, he was the son of Alberta Ann (Sugrue) Cooke and the late Richard Connor Sr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Kevin Connor and his wife, Patricia Ann; his sisters, Ann- Marie Connor Cunnane and Kathleen Hajosch and her husband Peter; his niece, Ashley Cintron; his nephews, Peter Hajosch and Christopher Connor. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Connor, his father Richard Connor and Baby Erin Elizabeth.
Ricky was loved by all who knew him, especially his family and his extended family. Ricky enjoyed listening to music, dancing and playing the keyboard.
He enjoyed sports, especially playing basketball and loved the fresh outdoors.
But most of all, Ricky enjoyed socializing with anyone he met. He loved spending time with his friends and loved ones.
He will always be remembered by his outgoing spirit, tight hugs and his bright smile that would warm up a room and brighten everyone's day.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 26th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 27th at 10 am followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery. Please visit Ricky's Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
