Richard Eugene Corder was born July 8, 1977, in Amarillo, Texas and left this life on October 21, 2024, in Lubbock. He grew up and attended school in Amarillo and Clarendon. Richard married the love of his life, Ashley, in Odessa, Texas in July 2009. Richard spent most of his adult life working in the oilfields of the Permian Basin and southeastern New Mexico. He and Ashley lived in Lubbock. He was baptized as a young man and loved his Lord. His most recent work was on the lighting project at Jones Stadium renovations, Texas Tech University. His hobbies included music, movies, video games, and playing with his dogs, Mason and Cuppie. Richard loved his family most of all.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Frank Corder, Jr, and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife Ashley, step-daughter Jessica, mother Donna Schmidt and husband John of Morton, brother David, brother-in law Greg, four step-brothers and families, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society, High Plains Children’s Home, Amarillo, Texas, or a charity of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, November 8,2024 at Cactus Drive Church of Christ in Levelland.
