Richard Devon Crowder

June 4, 1960 - November 13, 2024

 

Richard D. “Bomber” Crowder, 64, of Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

 

Born June 4, 1960, in Salem, he was the son of Roy Dean and Vera Faye (Land) Crowder.

 

He graduated from Shoals High School with the class of 1978 and received an automotive degree from Ivy Tech.

 

He married Kimberly Lou King on July 13, 1996, and she survives.

 

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing cars at the Martin County Speedway, and CB radios.

 

He was a member of the Red Quarry Christian Church.

 

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Kimberly; children, Robert Lee, Rick Crowder, Brandon Crowder, Ramonda (William) Grafton, John (Beth) Way, Stephanie (Chris) Cushman, and Pearl Crowder; grandchildren, Chase, Elsa, and Scarlett Crowder, Vera and Ava Hawkins, Winter, Zeth, Oliver, and Gwendolyn Grafton, and Violet Cushman; siblings, Rhonda Boring, Robin Denton, Ronald (Tasha) Crowder, Randi (Mike) Tinkle, Rheta Shaw, and Derek Crowder; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Blayze Crowder.

 

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Shoals Christian Church with 

Joe Crowe and Darrell Land officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the service hour on Tuesday at the church.
