Richard Joseph Czubachowski, age 85, of Sebewaing, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.
Richard was born in Toledo, OH on November 19, 1939, to Albin and Mary (Kolodziejski) Czubachowski. He married Karen Witkowski on January 16, 1960 in Toledo. He had a small farm in Temperance, Michigan from 1968-1971, and raised goats, cattle and ponies. He and Karen moved to Sebewaing in 1971. Richard then owned Saginaw Bay Manufacturing in the 70s-80s, and made jack hooks, perch rigs, perch eyes, spawn eggs, ice fishing hooks and double diamonds. He and his brother-in-law had invented many spring gauges and trinkets. He retired from Sebewaing Industries doing machine repair. Richard was an active member in the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady Consolata Parish and the Charismatic Renewal Center in Saginaw. He enjoyed donating many nativity scenes to local groups to help raise money. He enjoyed hunting and loved fishing.
Richard is survived by his children: Kevin (Chris) Czubachowski, Margie (Pat) Frazier, Regina (Jon) Collis, Victoria (Rob) Blunt, Denise (Wayne) Simmons and Christopher (Lacie) Czubachowski; 14 grandchildren: Adam (Ashley) Czubachowski, Grace (Eric) Dennis, Alison Rewa, Kristy (Kelly) Morrison, Amanda (Scott) Virden, Kate Frazier, Charyl Ward Bobby (Megan) Collis, Charles (Glenda) Blunt, Jennifer (Tyler) Anger, Heather Blunt, Thomas Blunt, Cole (Kayla) Simmons, Carly (Joe) Ales and Chloe Czubachowski; 12 great grandchildren; sisters: Christine Rybak and Connie Czubachowski; and nieces and nephews.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen; and brother, Jerome Czubachowski.
The Funeral Mass will be Monday, May 19, 2025 at Our Lady Consolata Catholic Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of Mass at 11am. Fr. Robert Pare' will be officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery in Unionville.
Memorial donations may be given to Our Lady Consolata or the Thumb Animal Shelter.
