Richard A. Hoffmeister “Dick” of Antigo, passed away on August 18, 2025 at his home, under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 92 years old.
Dick was born on July 22, 1933 in Antigo to the late Albert and Myrtle (Neigenfind) Hoffmeister. He was united in marriage to Carol Marvin on February 13, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2017.
Dick worked for Rexford Paper Company in Milwaukee prior to a 34-year career at Kraft Foods. He retired in 1993. He also owned and operated his family’s dairy farm.
Dick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. During his years of service, he worked as an ambulance driver. He also served in the Korean War. Dick was a regular at Music in the Park where he not only enjoyed listening to the music but dancing as well. At Music in the Park, he was also honored for his military service and participated in the raising, lowering, and folding of the flag. He loved camping and spending time outdoors. He always kept busy and enjoyed tinkering and fixing things in his machine shed. Dick also enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Arizona and Texas.
Dick is survived by 2 daughters, Diane (Duane) Kryka of Antigo and Debbie Hoffmeister of Antigo; a son, Daniel (Laura) Hoffmeister of Antigo; special friend Jane Dacey of Antigo; grandchildren, David (Judy) Kielcheski, Tim (Stacey) Kielcheski, Jesse (Michael) Hoffmeister, Joe (Savannah) Hoffmeister, Kimberly Spurgeon (fiancé Joel Hebola) , Katalin (Kirk) Hamauer, and Christopher Spurgeon (Emma Hess); great grandchildren, Mason, Nolan, and Aiden Kielcheski, Reegan, Saige, Scarlet, Sloan, and Victor Hoffmeister, and Maribelle Jean Spurgeon; brother, Clifford Hoffmeister of Antigo.
In addition to his parents and wife Carol, Dick was preceded in death by a great grandchild Madyson Kielcheski, brother Walter Hoffmeister, sisters Donna Saunders and Barbara (Jerry) DeBroux, and sister-in-law Marion Hoffmeister.
A funeral service for Dick will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
Dick’s family would like to extend a special thank you to LeRoyer hospice and Rev. Marvin Kindle for their kindness, care, and compassion during this time.
