Richard “Dick” C. Warner, age 94 of Kalamazoo, died at home under hospice care on July 13, 2024. He was born on May 22, 1930, in Kalamazoo, the son of Cole and Bernice (Miner) Warner. Dick attended school in the Kalamazoo area. For 35 years, he was a plasma burner for Clarage Fan Company. He then worked in maintenance for McDonald’s on Westnedge.
On June 23, 1951, he married Helen Relaford and they shared 73 wonderful years together. Dick enjoyed many activities over the years including fishing, hunting, working on cars, doing woodworking for his family, and riding a motorcycle. He cherished his time spent with his family.
His family includes his wife, Helen Warner; his children: Vicki (Dale) Jager and Kathleen “Kit” Thran; his 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Barbara Warner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons, Michael Warner and Rick Warner, his son-in-law, Joseph Thran, and his siblings: Jack Warner, Cole Warner, Jr., Lillian Collins, Louis Warner, Beverly Howard, David Warner, Douglas Warner, and Billy Warner.
Friends may gather with his family on Friday, July 19th, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. Donations in memory of Dick may be made to Centrica Care Navigators.
