Richard W. Doyle, a devoted brother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully August 9, 2025 surrounded by family. He was 62.
Born on February 2, 1963, in Endicott, NY, Richard was the beloved son of the late Ronald W. and Rosemary L. (Calleo) Doyle. A proud graduate of Amsterdam High School, Class of 1981, he went on to earn a degree in Physics from SUNY Cortland, graduating in 1985.
His surviving siblings lovingly remember Richard (Rick): Lori Smith (Greg) of Amsterdam, NY, Lisa McGillin (Gene) of Alexandria, VA, Kelly Andolina (Kevin) of Clifton Park, NY, and Sean Doyle of Ballston Spa, NY. He is also survived by his cherished nephews, Jason Andolina of Clifton Park, NY, and Ryan Andolina-Cabral (Tyler) of Brooklyn, NY, along with his niece, Giada McGillin of Alexandria, VA. Richard will be deeply missed by his uncle, Michael Calleo (Jack) of Manhattan, NY, and many dear friends.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Ronald (1995) and Rosemary (2025), as well as his siblings: Robert Doyle (1983), Kathy Riess (2005), and Kevin Doyle (2006).
Rick's career began on Long Island and led him to exciting destinations, including Long Beach, CA, Las Vegas, NV, and St. Croix. His journey eventually brought him to Saratoga, where he worked for the family's cigar shop and contributed his time at the Saratoga Racetrack, blending his passion for his work with the vibrant atmosphere of these iconic locations.
Rick had a deep love for animals, and they, in turn, loved him with equal affection. Over the years, his sisters' three Dalmatians adored him, and he took great joy in playing with them. Their companionship brought him immense happiness and comfort throughout his life.
Rick had a love for card games, often gathering with friends and family at the cigar shop for lively games. His favorite was blackjack, where he delighted in the friendly competition and the joy of spending time with those he cared about.
Rick had a vibrant and infectious personality that lit up every room he entered. Known for his sense of humor and ability to bring joy to any situation, he had a way of making everyone around him smile. His fun-loving nature, quick wit, and playful spirit will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
To honor Rick's generous spirit, the family kindly asks that donations be made in his memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a cause deeply meaningful to him. Donations can be made online at www.mskcc.org. or by mail to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065 or to the Saratoga County SPCA, PO Box 64, Rexford, NY 12148. www.saratogacountyspca.org
The family deeply appreciates the compassionate care and comfort provided by the doctors, nurses, aides, and staff at River Ridge Living Center during our brother's time there.
