Richard Dupuis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 20, 2025.
Richard L. Dupuis

Gonic, NH – Richard L. Dupuis, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 23, 1947, in Dover, New Hampshire, the son of George and Eva (Dauphinais) Dupuis.

Richard worked for Avco Finance, retiring at the age of 50 to be a beloved "Pepere" to his grandchildren. He married his beloved wife, Rachel "Che Che" (Nadeau) Dupuis, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. He spent a wonderful 57 years always calling her "My Bride".

Richard was a beloved member of his community and spent many years as a member of the Knights of Columbus chapter 2048 in Rochester, NH. He had a deep love for gardening, particularly vegetables and flowers, and found joy in working outdoors. You would always find Richard in his greenhouse planting seedlings or making Christmas wreaths to give to his family and friends. If he was not in the greenhouse, he was cutting flowers or vegetables to sell at his farm stand.

He is survived by his wife, Che Che; his son, Richard "Red" and his wife Melanie; three grandchildren, Abigail, Sarah, and Samuel; his brothers, Euclide & Arlene (Crystal Rivers, FL), Victor & Lucille, Gerard & Elaine (Gonic, NH); and his sisters, Lorraine Moyna (Winchedon, MA) and Marie & Robert Nadeau (Madbury, NH). In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Armand and Francis.

His family would like to thank his home care givers Jody and Sandy who took amazing care of him for many years. They would also like to thank the staff at Watson Fields for the excellent care given to him in his last few months.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 PM on Monday August 25th, 2025, at St. Martin Catholic Church, 120 Maple St, Somersworth, NH, with visitation beginning one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Richard's memory to the Alzheimer's Association. Donations can be made at https://www.alz.org.
