Age 77, of Pittsburgh, on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Beloved husband for 54 years of Joanie Dwyer. He was born on June 17, 1946, and the son of the late Richard & Betty Jane Dwyer Sr. Dear father of Richard M. (Maggie) Dwyer III and the late William D. (surviving wife Melissa) Dwyer. Loving grandfather of Casey, Chase, Rylee, Will, Jessica and Jack. Great grandfather of Rowan and Lachlan. Brother of the late Michael (Midge) Dwyer.  Rich was a graduate of Duquesne University and the FBI National Academy. He was in law enforcement for 40 plus years.  Rich proudly served the PPB (Pittsburgh Police Bureau) for over 35 years and retired with the rank of Lieutenant.  Rich finished his law enforcement service serving as Chief of Police with both the Wilkinsburg and Dormont Police departments. Family and friends are welcome, Sunday ,6-8 p.m. and Monday, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220.  (412-563-2800). Blessing Service will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment Calvary Cemetery. If desired memorial donations may be sent to Children’s Heart Institute, Pittsburgh, PA.
