Richard Engrassia,
Of Newton, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 6, 2024, at the Newton Wellsley Hospital He was 78.
Born on January 27, 1946 in Boston; son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Ternullo) Engrassia. Richard was born, raised and educated in Boston. He had also lived for a time in Belmont, Cambridge and Waltham.
A retired Chef, Richard had been employed at the Belmont Manor and Piety Corner Nursing Homes. He was a proud member of The Epicurean Club of Boston America's oldest professional chefs' association.
An avid fan of all New England and Boston Sport's teams, he enjoyed spending time at the Peaceful Pines Campground in Templeton and listening to '60's music. His passion was his cooking especially during the holidays and he loved making unique birthday cakes for his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years Noreen E. (Harris) Engrassia, his daughter Cheryl M. Routhier and her husband David of Waltham and his son Richard C. Engrassia and his wife Keri of Billerica, his grandchildren Nicholas, Samantha and Timothy White and Sophie, Savannah and Jack Routhier and Kyle, his great grandchildren Anthony, Lorenzo and Vincenzo, his brother Joseph Engrassia, his sister Margaret Engrassia and his Godchildren Courtney and Chris Giapo and Pam.
He was predeceased by his brother Frank Engrassia.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Richard's life on Thursday evening, August 15th at 6 PM in the Mary Catherine Chapel of the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday evening August 15th at 6PM. Visiting hours will be held prior to services from
4PM until 6PM. Interment will be held Friday in the Belmont Cemetery.
For those who wish donations in Richard's memory may be made to The Epicurean Club of Boston, 29 Johnson Street, Saugus, MA 01906.
